Major PPC Web Spy update!

Hey gang, we’ve made some major changes and improvements to PPC Web Spy, based on recommendations from you all.

Here are the things we’ve been working on over the past week, amongst the craziness.

To update your copy, simply click the “view keywords” button you would normally click to view keywords. Up will pop a screen telling you to update. Follow the onscreen instructions to update your version.

1. Completely changes the look of www.ppcwebspy.com to a much more upbeat, happy, and uplifting design. I feel this better represents the software than the dark, gloomy looking site from before.

2. Changed the entire focus of the site so that the small viral/affiliate link feature is barely mentioned… and is mentioned as only a side benefit, which is what it should be. The focus is now on what the tool actually does and the purpose of why I created the tool to begin with: To unccover your Adwords competition’s keywords.

3. Changed the GUI of the product itself to match the new site design.

4. Changed the “view keywords” button to not look so bright and “in your face”. It blends much better with Google now.

5. Added an option where free users may turn off the 2 affiliate links that appear at the top of Google. Some were complaining about the links bothering them, so naturally… they wouldn’t click them to begin with. So, we added an option that allows you to turn them off and not be bothered by them.

6. Added a FAQ page with the most frequently asked questions to help with some of the confusion: http://www.ppcwebspy.com/FAQ.php

7. Added 60,000 more keywords to our already enormous, 2 billion keyword database. The more keywords that are added, the better results you’ll get. We’ll be adding 60,000 more keywords every few weeks and the resuls will only get better and better.

8. We added the “view keywords” button the “more sponsored ads” pages on Google, like this: http://www.google.com/sponsoredlinks?q=weight+loss&hl=en&um=1&ie=UTF-8

… and we’re currently working on many more features and functionality to come.

Please post your comments below. I’d love to hear what you think about the new additions.

If you have any support questions, please submit a ticket so that our support team can quickly assist you. You may do so here: http://www.bryxensoftware.com/support/

Thanks!

Brad

P.S. I’m updating this post real quick to answer a few of the questions left in the comments below:

1. You can re-download PPC Web Spy anytime here: http://www.ppcwebspy.com/download.php

2. To view number of referrals you have, go here and login: http://www.ppcwebspy.com/referrals.php

3. To turn off the 2 affiliate links, follow these steps:

- Click the tools menu option in Firefox.

- Click the add-ons menu option

- Click the PPC Web Spy row and click the option button

- Uncheck the “show affiliate links” checkbox

4. PPC Web Spy currently works for google.com and google.co.uk. It ‘might’ work for other locations in the future, but it will be quite awhile, as that is a major major feature addition that involves doubling the size of our expenses and involves an extensive amount of resources.

  3. I wasn’t able to get the software downloaded (the first time). It started to download … something must have interrupted my internet connection or something — but I wasn’t able to re-start the download. Can you please send me a link to the original download?

    Thanks

thank you for working so hard…….. you do not owe me anything…… truth be

I owe you for trying so hard to help me…… till you are better paid …. thanks

  5. Art Remnet says:

    The new interface rocks!

Nice work Brad and company – can’t wait to see what you come up with next.

  6. I like this software, it is really informative. That is the free version. I might get the paid version soon. But I like it for sure. Keep it up.

will ppc web spy work one day for other language and country than english?

  8. Peter Bate says:

Love the changes blue is my favorite color anyway :-) Am still wondering why
Some keywords have absolutely nothing to do with the adword that is showing.

    Keep up the good work.

  9. Scott Spooner says:

Great additions to the update! Thank you very much for doing this!

  10. Peter Buick says:

    Brad
that’s great news. I look forward to upgrading.

That’s exaclty what I was blogging about you that PPC WebSpy needed.

    Peter

  11. Skip Nusbaum says:

Please pardon me if I’m blind, but how do you turn off the two affiliate links that appear at the top of Google?

  12. Brad Callen says:

I’ll edit the original post now and include answers to a few of you guy’s questions…

    Brad

  13. Brad,

Great work! I previously had problems even getting ‘view keywords’ to appear. You’ve done a great job, changing the color scheme is fabulous, it doesn’t get ‘in your face’ like the old one. I think it’s great, I don’t know why the ‘dark scary’ color sets have been so popular lately!

On to the change of focus, good for you. This will help greatly in my affiliate promotion. The tool needs to be promoted for what it is, a GREAT WAY to look at keyword advertisers quickly and get a list of their keywords.

Kudos too for adding all of the extra keywords. That will really come in helpful, and for keeping up with the keyword searches at Google.

    Good job!

PS – I’m off to re-send a promotion email, thanks for updating PPC Web Spy so quickly.

  14. After a nearly a year of using your products, I can assure anyone that you are constantly updating your software releases. This is so important.

We gravitate to the convenience of having SEO products installed on our computers to cut down the hours of research it would normally take to achieve the same results, but if that software was not continually upgraded our investments would soon become obsolete.

Of course, PPC Web Spy comes in a free version like so many of your previous products. I’ve found it a great time-saver and have recommended it.

  15. Joe Pelligra says:

    Thanks for the update Brad.

One question. If this software mainly focus is to find out the competition keywords, why would people who already own your Keyword elite would bother to get it and use it if on your Keyword elite sales page you show the software as the most amazing software there is to find keywords and find out which ones your competitors are using?

Am I missing something here or you are just re-using code from KE and created a new tool? I am sure I am missing something, but if all I want is a tool to find out keywords my competitor is using in PPC, I should stay with KE, correct?

    Thanks Brad

    JP

  16. Peter says:

Just installed the update. Yes, it is a big improvement. It did tend to look a menacing previously and I think it would have put a lot of people off forwarding it.

    Keep up the good work.

  17. jerry says:

    Nice look!

I do have one observation, when one is using the keyword software and you put in a name of a website some pages don’t show any keyword keys? I have reloaded the page and nothing seems to come up. some pages do not show the “view Keywords’
    key?

    Jerry

  18. Brad Callen says:

Hey JP, Keyword Elite does not uncover the keywords that your competitors are bidding with via Google Adwords. Keyword Elite allows you to analyze the keywords themselves. PPC Web Spy allows you to analyze the specific keywords a specific website is bidding on.

  19. Kevin says:

I keep getting the notice that says I have made too many requests to view the keywords and must wait for say 15 seconds to send another.

Is this because it is the free version?

I am using it as a trial. But I have to say, that is very annoying and discouraging when trying to analyze several sponsered links.

    Thank you.

  20. Jim Cotton says:

Brad, just upgraded the software and it works fine. I had no problems with the FireFox upgrade.

As to the new look and feel: Sorry, but it sucks.

Pastel?? Also, don’t like the almost hidden, blue “view keywords” button.

Your original scheme was very easy to read and scan on screen; this new idea, well, let’s just say I think you had it right the first time around.

The good news is that this is an absolutely awsome product that every marketer must have in their bag of tricks. Thank you so much for all the time and effort you’ve put into this great offering!

    Jim in Atlanta

  21. Brad Callen says:

Hi, it’s likely because you’re clicking the “view keywords” button way too quickly. You must wait a few seconds between searches. This is our security to prevent hackers from creating automated bots to crawl our servers… which would, in turn kill our servers.

  22. Brad Callen says:

hehe… Sorry Jim. Maybe we can provide an option to change the skin of the software to different variations?

  23. Thanks Brad! I can’t believe there are actually a few ( 2 or 3) people that call themselves
marketers, but still don’t know who Brad Callen is…but HOW!!?

I got your free version (so far) of PPC Web Spy..love it..even made a Squidoo Lens
about it..DID get traffic…but no aff. “down-lines” yet. I guess because I’m not well
known yet, therefore not trusted yet. And I’m like…But it’s Brad!! Good Grief!!

OK, I babbled a little. What I meant to say was that, although some may have been
skeptical because of the hype, I know already know that if it’s from Brad Callen, it’ll
    be Good!!

    ok, bye.

  25. Vincent says:

    Hi Brad,

GUI looks great and fresh. Nice work from you and the team.

Wondering how many days you use to calculate the average value for click/day.

When I click on the keywords, most of them are showing the actual ads. But I found that few are showing just the URL or just the title and description of the ads.
    What does it mean?

    B. regards,
    Vincent

  26. Fred says:

    Hi Brad,

    I love the new design!

It looks great and I’d say it’s a major improvement.

I am displaying the PPC Web Spy banner on each of my 3 main sites:

    http://MyWA.ca

    http://Loving-Relationships.ca

    http://TeaseArticles.com

Could you change the banners to brighten them up for use on my sites as well?

    Thanks,

    Fred

  27. Jonathan says:

These are good additions. Glad to see you are willing to make changes to an already perfect system. I will continue to promote it!

  28. Samantha says:

The update is cool. My only issue is that I have to wait 30 seconds between keyword
Checks. Even when there was no information for a particular site. This is very time
Consuming. Is it just my software or is that how this software is set up? Can this
    Be changed?

  29. Joe Pelligra says:

Brad, project #5 on KE says, spy on adwords competition. THat tells me, it does spy on your google adwords competititors to find out what keywords they are bidding on.

On your KE sales page you say:

“Legally and Ethically ‘Steal’ Your Competitors Profitable Adwords Keywords By Discovering Exactly Which Keywords Are Making Them Money!”

that says adwords, says find keywords they are using. can you explain again the difference please? it looks to me as both do the same, I know KE you have to load 1000′s of keywords, and it tells you yes or not if the competitors is using the keyword or not, but is not that the same as finding out what keywords they are bidding on?

    JP

  30. [...] Lots of the changes are GUI-based… but there’s a few others that are just nice feature upgrades/enhancements. Check it out here. [...]

  31. Brad Callen says:

Hey JP, with Keyword Elite, you can monitor the keywords your adwords competition is using. But you first have to input a list of keywords into keyword elite. basically, you would input a giant list of words and then keyword elite would monitor those keywords and tell you if the website is bidding on them or not. With PPC Web Spy, you just click the view keywords button and it tells you which words they’re bidding on.

  32. Brad Callen says:

Hey Samantha, that shouldn’t happen. The only reason for that is if you were using multiple IP addresses each time you search.

  33. Hi Brad,

Nice and excellent software as always :)

I love using the ppcwebspy, it’s like I’m having my own spy works for me :D
Your software help me a lot in ppc world.

    Thanks,
    Padro Widjaja

  34. stuart says:

    Hey Brad,
cool app, I’m lovin it for quick easy keyword research,

    one question,
it only lists keywords for the sponsored links, the paid ads on google page,
is there any way to get it to research keywords for the top organic results,
as these are the ads, links and websites that I would really like to do keyword research on!
I guess not or you already be doing it!
    cheers an thanks again…

  35. Joe Pelligra says:

    Brad,

I am trying to buy your software, but from your email I went to the the page, then when I clicked on upgrade it said platinum $97

Now, I went to the same upgrade page and it says silver $97 and platinum $147

    is the price changing?

    JP

  36. Michael says:

I find this to be a great time-saving tool. Thanks.

I do like the new color scheme but the previous one was nice too because it tied into the whole “spy” theme.

Your tool also taps into a whole other huge feature you’re not promoting. I’ll spill later when I get my promo email finished.

    On the down side:

“Added an option where free users may turn off the 2 affiliate links that appear
at the top of Google. Some were complaining… ”

    Two comments:

    1. Seriously? The aff links is the main reason behind promoting this. Give them the option to turn it off and there’s no reason to promote it. Personally, I’d rather receive recurring aff links sales commissions than one-time referral fee.

    2. I think the aff links are the cost you pay for using a free tool. If they don’t like, they can choose to not use the tool or pay for the premium version.

  37. Byron says:

    Brad,

Thanks for setting up this forum.

At first I thought this was a scam. But I am slowly changing my mind. I have seen a 40% increase in my traffic in one day! Well done you!

I am trying to figure out how your compensation plan works.
Do you have such a thing in writing?

I am still going to wear my skeptical hat for a while so I would like to shoot another question from the hip.

Have you written the software to link you to all the trades taking place via the google ads right from the top of the tree?

If we sell-you win. If we trade-you win.

I ask this because our links stop when a referral upgrades to platinum. Correct? So we win for a while. Then it stops.

I am still new to this so maybe it will become clearer.

How do we know if someone is a free or platinum user. How can we monitor the transactions of our referrals?

Is anyone on here making serious money?

    Thank you

  38. I have fastened ppc web spy to two of my sites on 9th Feb.One is mentioned
above,2nd one is the “thealso.greattraders.blogspot.com”.I am planning to put it
    on a 3rd site.Looking nice.working properly the ppc one.
    Thanky

  39. Seth says:

    Hello Brad,

I think it is a great product you have here, but I will not upgrade as it seems to work more for USA adwords than it does for UK specific.

When I search American Google so many more of the keywords are shown compared to the same search done in UK Google. Approxiamtely only 1 in 30 ads shows the keywords.

My question is will support for UK specific keywords and campaigns increase in time or will this be mainly American?

Please let me know as I don’t want to upgrade if the whole emphasis of this program is geared mainly towards the american market and not the uk.

    Regards

    Seth

  40. Joe Pelligra says:

Brad, I bought the platinum upgrade it took me to a page that says thank you and upgrade, but where do I download the platinum version? there is nothing there to download….please help

    JP

  41. Hey Brad,

I love the new interface. And I appreciate the new View Keywords buttons. Definitely more appropriate. It’s still there and readily available for those of us who need it but less distracting to typical searchers.

And you’ve got the upgrade process down now. It’s quick & easy.

    Thanks.

    Terry

  42. Leon Horton says:

    Hi Brad,

All I can say is that you are a great software producer.

For those of us who are not as well off financially, you allow us to be able to
    participate as well.

    Thanks so much!

    Peace,

  43. Bob Kennelly says:

I think maybe I don’t understand the concept of the program.
Looking at Keywords is good, but would it help me in getting a listing in the first 2
Slots of my other online stores?
    Thanks
    Bob

  44. jsbasia says:

Looks good. Must say I preferred the old green “View Keywords” but I can live with this one.

However, it seems “Search by Ad Destination URL” doesn’t work… can you have a look at that?

  45. Tamara says:

Great piece of software and excellent for finding focussed visitors for my anti wrinkle treatment website

  46. Thanx Brad for your software and its update.
Me and my partners like your PPC Webspy and use it to get most profitable
    keywords for our websites.

I also offer PPC Webspy as free tool for my website visitors and subscribers!
    Thanx a lot!

  47. Rhys says:

Hey Brad ,Like the changes but doesn’t allowing people to remove the 2
affiliate links kinda defeat the purpose of upgrading to Platinum like I have .
If they can just turn it off?-I was sold on the fact that they couldn’t.

    RF

  48. Thomas says:

Dude The firefox cannot allow me to download the update here is what it says.
    read below

firefox could not install the file at

    http://www.ppcwebspy.com/download/ppcwebspy.xpi

because: Not a valid install package
    -207
    Something must be mising.

I still think this think should be build into the firefox Browser.
