http://www.vpnmessenger.com progress journal:
Firstly, welcome to my first post in progress journal for our recently launched http://www.vpnmessenger.com.
I thought I would start this post to firstly contribute something worth while to the forum, but also to try and build a network of contacts, to share my findings and ideas with, which hopefully will help my venture, but also assist others who are also launching their next big idea.
Hopefully this will also encourage other forum members to share some of their valuable experience/tips with me and anyone caring to monitor my journal.
In future posts (and when time permits) I will share my progress of my website/software, relating to marketing which will range from:
• Technical questions of my companies software,
• How I have promoted my website so far (e.g. I have bought Seoelite and Keyword Elite sometime ago and i am just starting to use it)
• What link directories that I have submitted to
• How many downloads that we have had
• How many registered users we have and how many we have converted to sales
This post is open to all and everyone is welcome to post relative, but constructive comments that will further enhance the content of this journal and also help me and other with our ventures.
I am not claiming to be any marketing master; in fact I am from the software development side, so I am learning as I am going along on the art of SEO.
With out further delay, firstly What is the software Yousab community?
I started on the path of developing this software around 2 years ago in my spare time as a hobby (I do software development as part of my day job also) whiles I was living in the UAE, which is in the Middle East.
The government has strict control on viewership in this country, so this was a strong motive to try and bypass the local filters, so I could have access to the VOIP Skype, so I could make calls home to my family and friends.
The first website that was developed with http://www.thenetgate.org which was basically a proxy website which allowed people to surf anonymously and allowed you to unblock all the content that was deemed suitable for censorship.
Unfortunately it didn’t meet my objectives because it struggled to facilitate VOIP.
After moderate success, basically hindered with a complex set up for the software for users, this encouraged me to look at finding better ways to provide a service which will not only be totally secure and anonymous, but also allow all internet traffic to pass through it undetected.
It soon became apparent that the solution for this was to develop a VPN.
After allot of time spent with I.T friends (who work with IT companies) collectively we managed to come up with a product which I believe is going to be (hopefully) successful in the future of VPN development.
This software is called Yousab community, which is promoted under the http://www.vpnmessenger.com.
Here below are my newly formed companies marketing

We launched this software on the 18th of May and to today we have had 1000 downloads and 97 registered users. In the time we have gone from PR 0 to PR2 and we are presently sitting at Alexa ranking 3.9 million.
I am using many different methods to promote the service and in my next post I will mention what I have done so far to get the moderate results mentioned above and what free software that I have used. I will also discuss certain pit falls that I will be facing with operating a service of this nature.
